In this video we are recording one of the songs that we used to play together roundabout 25 years ago. Now we meet again to finally record this song again. We used to play gigs for almost 10 years almost every week from 1988 to 1999 but never made a serious recording. Today we'll do it anyway!
We're both still alive and kicking. I'm almost 50 and Bonne is over 70... and we love to give this to the world!

Just fooling around on the piano. Testing my new distorted piano sound. The mic is the iphone 6 mic so not perfect but still dirty! Geweldig ja. Iemand hieronder noemt hem de André Rieu onder de ' nederlansche ' pianisten. Dat lijkt me erg veel eer voor André Rieu.

Pim Jacobs vertelde ook al eens dat Louis beter was en Jacobs was absoluut heel erg goed, heeft zelfs met Wes Montgomery gespeeld en dat zegt heel wat.
De vergelijking met Andre Rieu loopt op alle vlakken spaak (behalve dat ze allebei in de muziek zitten).
deze video zal me blijven heugen, wat een geweldig rustpunt bood Louis ons. En wat een prachtig inkijkje over samenwerken met collega's . Werkelijk heel bijzonder. Grote waardering en dank. R.I.P Louis.

Ehm...nee. Louis staat voor mij vele mijlen boven Rieu, met alle respect. Respect voor André als entertainer en zakenman maar niet te vergelijken.
André Rieu is een showman, Louis een (briljant) musicus in elke vezel van zijn lijf. Maar laten we vooral ophouden mensen te vergelijken.

Over gevleugelde vrienden gesproken
Oh that I knew what the conversation was...loved the personal visit with the maestro...
They were just expressing their mutual admiration and respect for each other, how just a quick glance at each other during their performances would render them a jolt of joy. Louis talked about getting up very early in the morning to go shopping at the local market all by himself, and how he would enjoy the short rides through the country getting there. He really wanted to spoil his guests with great food and wine. He praised the musicians for their technical skills and musical improvisations, how world-renowned they are and are flown to all parts of the world to accompany other musicians. The performance in the café was a tribute to the owner whom he thanked for her hospitality and making him feel so welcomed. He spoke about the hot temperatures in the South of France and that he expected to find his friends in the swimming pool, but was pleasantly surprised to find them practicing. As soon as they see an instrument, they want to play and practice. All of them very hard working friends. It truly was a joy to see them play together. Louis will be greatly missed.

Grootmeesterlijk en monumentaal optreden van de vandaag jarige Louis van Dijk met bevlogen begeleiders Frits Landesbergen, Edwin Corzilius en Jeroen de Rijk. Wat mij betreft een cadeau met eeuwigheidswaarde - heel hartelijk dank Louis en alle goeds!!
